People and/or Places

Defining “place” in today’s world can be as complex as defining “identity”. What I tried to do with these paintings is to present a personal view of place that both reinforces and contradicts ways in which we construct a “sense of place.” They speak to the role art plays in shaping ways in which we understand places and the people who inhabit them.
